Pre-Booking Invitation for...
YOGA VACATION / EXPLORATION WEEK in SOUTHWEST FRANCE
MAY 8 - May 15, 2010
Dear Friends,
I am so pleased to invite you to join me for a YOGA Vacation/ Exploration in a charming area
of Southern France!
I have just returned from visiting Etres Aux Anges at Chateau Perroterie near the historic town of Duras, France to
plan the wonderful week in May 2010. This amazing area is 75 minutes inland from Bordeaux, yet still in the
Bordeaux wine country.
Chateau Perroterie, where we will be staying for the Week, is set up on a hill on 25 acres of rolling hills, surrounded
by walking paths, vineyards, a lake, plum farms, horse farms and historic sites. "Etres Aux Anges" means "at the
height of angels" --- and truly this is a place where time stops.
Nearby, 1.3 miles away, is the fortified town of Duras-- just a short bike ride from our accomodations. There is plenty
to do each afternoon during your open time....swim, read, walk, rest, get a massage on site, use your laptop to do
some work (both buildings at Chateau Perroterie are Wi-Fi set and get good cell phone reception) Or see some of
the local sites.
You can do as much or as little as you like. There are numerous optional afternoon trips besides the 2 that are
included in the cost. Or, just relax and enjoy some down time :)
The trip is open to everyone, all levels....even beginners. The morning yoga class is a multi-level class...similar to the
group classes I teach now. The afternoon class will be gentle/restorative yoga, and 2 of the afternoons we will teach
"chair yoga"---a great type of yoga one does seated in a chair. Everyone can do chair yoga!
The owners of Chateau Perroterie (speak english and french) are warm and wonderful! They serve amazing French
meals, with plenty of fresh ingredients; dinner is a 3 course meal with lovely local Bordeaux valley wine included. And,
of course, breakfast and lunch, and snacks and drinks during the day are all included. What a great way to travel to
France....doing yoga and eating delicious food and sightseeing with a warm-hearted group of people.
DAILY SCHEDULE:
*Morning: 90 minute yoga class ---the yoga room opens up to terraces which we may use
optional 25 minute meditation most mornings
breakfast
*Lunch: 11:30 ish
*Afternoon: from about 1 until 5 there will be open time. You can rest, swim, etc or take a side
trip. There is so much to see and do in this area of France! In the nearby town
of Duras there is a restored Castle/ Chateau open for tours. There are prune
farms to tour, bikes to rent, chocolate factory, old Templar Churches and more!
Excursions: Our week includes 2 side trips:
on one day we will take a fantastic day trip
(8:30 ish to 5:00) to the incredible town of Saint-Emillion 45 minutes away---
complete with a historic tour of the monuments and sites, lunch at a local
restaurant, a tour of the pottery museum with stories of Eleanor of Aquitaine and
the Troubadours, and time to walk the original cobblestone streets, peruse
the inviting shops, or just sit at a cafe and sip expresso or Vervaine tea.
another day we will have an afternoon vineyard tour and wine tasting at a local
award-winning winemaker close to Chateau Perroterie.
Yoga 2: 5:15- 6:15 Gentle/ restorative Yoga class will be offered. This is a great way to wind
down; also a perfect class if you are new to yoga. On 2 days we will teach Chair
Yoga during this time...its gentle and accessible to everyone, almost anywhere!
Dinner: 7:15 we will eat in the inviting dining room in the main house...a 3 course meal
with excellent french wine and dessert and coffee/ tea.
This area of France is full of rolling hills and white stone churches, charming people and architecture. Also, there are
many stops here on the pilgrimage "Way of St. James"...Saint-Emillion is one of those stops. In May, the flowers will
be in full bloom and the temperatures in the 70s. Usually its warm enough to swim in the pool!
PLEASE check out the website for the "Etres Aux Anges"/ Chateau Perroterie and click on all the photos so you can
